Click the following link to see a 30 minute video of the Chattanooga community's first on-line Naw Ruz celebration which took place last night. We had 30% of our community participate at this first on-line effort. Congratulations to everyone.
Naw-Rúz (Persian) is the first day of the Baháʼí calendar year and one of nine holy days for adherents of the Baháʼí Faith. It occurs on the vernal equinox, on or near March 21.
Nawruz, historically and in contemporary times, is the celebration of the traditional Iranian new year holiday and is celebrated since ancient times as a national holiday in Iran and was celebrated by more than one religious group. The Bab, the founder of the Babi Faith (a predecessor faith), and then Baháʼu'lláh, the founder of the Baháʼí Faith, adopted the day as a holy day and associated it with the Most Great Name of God. It is now celebrated in more than 100,000 Baha'i localities around the world.
